Opening ceremony with Wendy

On 8 November 2025, we officially opened the new 3S cable car in Hoch-Ybrig with a stylish inauguration ceremony. Invited guests from the worlds of politics, tourism, gastronomy and Swiss Ski, as well as employees and construction workers who were involved in the creation of the cable car, gathered in the early evening for the christening and opening ceremony at the Weglosen valley station.

The Lochus alphorn quartet played a welcome tune, followed by the Schwyzerörgeli Duo Iten-Grab on the red carpet. Over 200 guests gathered at the valley station. Wendelin Keller welcomed the guests and expressed his sincere thanks to all the companies and employees involved. Fathers Armando Auf der Maur and Aaron Brunner provided the church blessing. The big moment followed with our local ski star Wendy Holdener. Wendy welcomed the guests and was delighted to cut the red ribbon in front of her own gondola #1. Visibly moved and proud, Wendy opened the actual inauguration ceremony with a loud cheer and loud applause! Wendy's portrait is immortalised on the front of cabin #1 and her achievements on the back.

Damit wurde die das neuartige Triline-System oder auch 3S-Bahn von Garaventa und Doppelmayr nach einer über zweijährigen Bauzeit offiziell eröffnet. In dieser Art ist die Umlaufbahn eine Weltneuheit! Übrigens wurde das über 20Mio teure Projekt per Handschlag zwischen der Hoch-Ybrig AG und der Garaventa AG besiegelt, einen Vertrag hat es nicht gegeben. Eine Sonderheit, welche bei uns bis heute funktioniert. Dafür braucht es viel Vertrauen, ein gemeinsames Ziel, grosse Motivation und Engagement.

After this ceremonial act, the invited guests took the new Triline lift to the mountain station and the Berghuus restaurant, where dinner and celebrations took place with fine food and delicious wine. During the evening, Urs Keller gave an impressive account of the planning and construction of the new lift system. Various guest speakers took the floor, expressed their gratitude and recounted anecdotes about the construction or their connections to Hoch-Ybrig. The inauguration and topping-out ceremony lasted until the early hours of the morning and will remain a fond memory for many.
