Avalanche control in Hoch-Ybrig

Security from the air

Hoch-Ybrig

In the Hoch-Ybrig ski area, safety is our top priority. To ensure our guests can enjoy carefree winter sports, experienced specialists are on duty every day. A key element of our safety concept is targeted avalanche control – carried out in close cooperation with Fuchs Helikopter Schindellegi and our Hoch-Ybrig Safety & Rescue Team

Precision and Experience from the Air

When the avalanche risk is high, critical slopes are controlled and blasted to selectively and safely release unstable snow layers. These operations take place early in the morning, before the lifts open. The helicopter precisely places the explosive charges over the defined danger zones – a method that demands the utmost precision, experience, and perfect coordination. Our collaboration with Fuchs Helikopter guarantees the highest level of professionalism. Thanks to modern technology and experienced pilots, even difficult-to-access areas can be reached efficiently and safely.

A Strong Team for Maximum Safety

On-site, the Hoch-Ybrig Safety & Rescue Team coordinates all measures. Under the leadership of experienced avalanche control expert Viktor Marty, and together with Sonja Reichmuth, weather and snow conditions are continuously analyzed, danger zones are assessed, and operations are planned in detail.

Every controlled avalanche is based on sound experience, current avalanche bulletins, and precise terrain knowledge. The goal is to mitigate potential hazards in a controlled manner before they become a threat.

Safety as a Daily Mission

Avalanche control is an invisible but crucial component of a safe day of skiing in Hoch-Ybrig. The use of helicopters, modern technology, and a well-coordinated team ensures that slopes, lifts, and access roads are secured to the highest possible standard. We thank everyone involved for their professional commitment – so you can enjoy your day in the snow with peace of mind.
