Security and rescue team

The experienced security and rescue team of Hoch-Ybrig AG

Hoch-Ybrig

In order to offer winter sports guests in Hoch-Ybrig the greatest possible safety, the Hoch-Ybrig cable cars can rely on a long-standing, well-coordinated and very competent safety and rescue team. We are proud of this team and know that our guests are in the best hands even in the event of an accident!

In addition to rescuing winter sports enthusiasts who have had an accident, the safety team has a whole range of other important tasks, such as checking the slopes, marking the slopes, securing the slopes, blasting avalanches and much more.

The slope checks take place every morning and evening, and winter sports guests are only allowed to be transported to the slopes once the slopes have been cleared by the safety officer.

The team in action

Can you read the slope markings? On the right at the edge of the slope there are the orange marker poles, on the left along the slope there are the orange marker poles with either a blue, red or black top end (50cm). Blue stands for easy slopes, red for medium-difficulty slopes and black for difficult slopes. This means that guests can find out about the difficulty level of the slopes directly on site. Several hundred marker poles are needed for the total of 50 kilometers of slopes in Hoch-Ybrig, which are regularly checked and maintained.

The slope manager Viktor Marty explains: from the perspective of the rescue and safety team, a slope can be opened as soon as it has been prepared, checked and secured against alpine dangers.

The Hoch-Ybrig safety and rescue team consists of ten long-standing employees who are regularly trained and further educated in the relevant safety and rescue courses. Five slope patrollers are on duty every day.

When rescuing injured winter sports enthusiasts, the primary task of the rescue team is to secure the scene of the accident, provide first aid to the injured, and communicate and coordinate with Rega or other emergency services. Minor injuries are treated directly and professionally by the rescue team so that guests can continue to enjoy their winter day.

We would like to thank our team for their great work and commitment to the safety of our valued guests!
